Reed Griffith aka Obeyah is a DJ and producer in the Washington DC area. With a background rooted in Turntablism, Global Rhythms and Club DJing, Obeyah has a developed a style and sound that is capable of energizing the tents of Fashions Night Out, Gala parties at the Swedish Embassy, then turning around and performing at the 2013 Mad Decent Block party as well as opening for producers such RL Grime, UZ, Hudson Mowhawke, Flosstradamus and Baauer. His live performances during the Panamanian Carnivale celebrations prove just how far this just how far this highly innovative DJ and Producer can go. Obeyah’s remixes and production work has shared the same diverse background and sound, appearing in Diplo’s sets on BBC Radio 1extra, Main Course Records radio show for Dim Mak, to mix tapes from Producers such as Nadastrom and Brodinski while getting recognition for his own mix tapes from MTV’s IGGY.
