Read Avalon’s interview:

My name is Avalon H., and I take drum and voice lessons at Bach to Rock East Marietta.

What inspired you to play music? I want to start a band with my brother someday. It made me want to play drums. Now I have a band!

What is your favorite style of music? I like all kinds of music except Taylor Swift, Benson Boone, and Katie Perry.

Who is your favorite artist and why? Oliver Tree, because he makes all types of music; some is emotional, and some is western. I like his music videos. I just like all the different styles and ways that he makes music.

What is your favorite song to play? My favorite song to play right now is Back in Black because of all the cymbals.

What are you learning right now in your lessons? Right now, I’m learning better ways to grip the sticks and ways to do double strokes and balance the sticks.

What are you most looking forward to learning/performing? I’m looking forward to performing TNT in the spring because that’s a good song.

What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock? I like that you get to perform music and choose what songs you play, and that you get to join a band.

What is your favorite thing about your teacher? I like that he is funny, makes jokes, and helps me learn more about the drums.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music? I enjoy reading books, playing horror games, listening to music, and definitely drawing and playing with toys with my brother.
