Meet Parker: Naturally Low Key and Chill, but Shines with His Band

Fifteen-year-old Parker has been taking lessons at Bach to Rock for over 7 years and has truly found his rhythm as a bass guitarist. Parker started in Kids n Keys, then moved through two levels of piano lessons and then on to bass lessons. Plus, he has attended multiple summer camps, for rock band and to learn how to DJ. With all that experience, and with outstanding teachers the entire way, today Parker is in two bands, Screaming Metal Death Trap and Sick Moose. He’s a natural on stage and his dad says, “Parker has the personality of a bass player – low key and chill – but his personality really shines when he is in band with his friends.” Bach to Rock’s band program unites kids of similar ages and music experience to build camaraderie, practice together and provide the valuable opportunity to play in front live audiences.
And while Parker’s dad is a Bach to Rock franchisee, it is the love of music and the hard work that Parker and his bandmates put into their bands that has led them to experience success. He says his proudest moment was winning the National Battle of the Bands, not once but twice with his two different bands. “The second win was really cool because the band video went viral and received 4 million views on TikTok,” he shared.
But before the band got so big, Parker recalls his first time on stage, when “my bass may have been bigger than me!” He remembers playing Rick Astley and a Jonas Brothers song, but only a year later, “I was playing AC/DC and Papa Roach.” His growth and love of music continued to flourish under the guidance of his Bach to Rock instructors.
One of Parker’s favorite Bach to Rock memories was when his band Sick Moose was selected to play at a major NFL stadium for a kids fest with over 8,000 attendees. Now that’s a rock show!
And Parker’s not slowing down! He is starting guitar lessons again soon, adding, “I’d like to be able to play my seven-string better.”
We are so proud of Parker and all that he’s accomplished with Bach to Rock! We can’t wait to see what he does next!
