Winners Announced for Bach to Rock Leawood’s First Annual Battle of the Bands!
On Sunday, June 29th, Bach to Rock Leawood proudly hosted our first annual Battle of the Bands at the Aztec Shawnee Theater. This event showcased months of hard work and rehearsals. This year we had ten groups performing and we hope to see even more next year!
Each division competed for First, Second, and Third Place awards. Additionally, all bands were eligible for two special honors: Audience Favorite and Best Original Song. Our battle featured 4 bands competing in the Level 1 Band category and 5 bands competing in the Level 2 Band category. These bands performed in front of their families, friends, and 4 industry professionals who served as our judges and conducted the scoring of each band with constructive comments for the students.
We’re incredibly proud of every student who took the stage. The competition was fierce, and the energy was electric. Now, without further ado, here are this year’s winners:
Band Level 1 Winners
- 1st Place: Lightning Boltz
- 2nd Place: Final Chaos
- 3rd Place: Pop Rocks
Band Level 2 Winners
- 1st Place: Torrent of Idioma
- 2nd Place: Heart Attack
- 3rd Place: Corvidae
Special Awards
- Audience Favorite: Pop Rocks
- Best Original Song: Electric 4
A special shoutout to our all-girls glee group: Glitter Pop. They showcased truly spectacular dance moves, and a costume change, all while singing-out harmonies to You Belong with Me by Taylor Swift and Popular from Wicked.
A huge congratulations to all the bands who performed — your hard work and talent shined on stage. And a big thank you to the parents, families, and our guest judges for your support. We couldn’t have done it without you!
