Bach to Rock Showcases Washington, D.C.-area Talent During Four-day Bachapalooza Showdown

America’s Music School to Host Student Band Competition for Chance to Win Professional Studio Time

Bach to Rock (B2R), America’s music school for students of all ages, announced today that hundreds of local students will take the stage in January and February 2015 for Bachapalooza, a new annual tradition for bands enrolled in B2R’s Rock Band Program. More than 70 student bands will perform in the upcoming concert series, which will take place over four days at Mahalo Cove, Jammin Java, Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club and Franklin Park on Jan. 10, 24, 25 and Feb. 1, respectively.

“We are inspired by the incredible talent that our students show us everyday at Bach to Rock, and we can’t wait to share with the community all of the hard work they put into this new tradition,” said Brian Gross, president of Bach to Rock. “For months, our students have practiced for Bachapalooza during their group and individual lessons offered at our six schools across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. We’re excited to see what they have in store for friends, families and local residents this year.”

Bachapalooza is open to the public. Performances will take place:

  • Saturday, Jan. 10, 1 p.m.5 p.m.Herndon students perform at Mahalo Cove, located at 46300 McClellan Way, Sterling, Va. Admission is free.
  • Saturday, Jan. 24, 1 p.m.4 p.m.McLean students perform at Jammin Java, located at 227 Maple Ave. E., Vienna, Va. Admission is $5.
  • Sunday, Jan. 25, 9 a.m.3 p.m.Bethesda and Rio students perform at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club, located at 7719 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, Md. Admission is $7.
  • Sunday, Feb. 1, 11 a.m.6 p.m.South Riding and Lansdowne students perform at Franklin Park, located at 36441 Blueridge View Lane, Purcellville, Va. Admission is free.
