Bach to Rock string lessons are ideal for beginner, intermediate, and advanced musicians. We welcome kids and adults, offering one-on-one instruction from professional musicians and experienced teachers. Students can also sign up for semi-private lessons with a friend or family member. All lessons are available either in-person or online.
We teach students how to maintain their instrument, proper posture when playing, and different bowing techniques. Our curriculum can be adjusted to each student’s needs, and we encourage students to choose which songs they practice and perform.
This way, string lessons become more fun and engaging for students!
Music Lessons for String Instruments
Double Bass Lessons
The double bass — also known as the contrabass, upright bass, or simply “the bass” — has a unique place in genres like classical, jazz, rockabilly, bluegrass, and folk. Its size can make it trickier to learn than other string instruments, making our double bass lessons valuable for student musicians.
The cello comes with a bit of a learning curve for new players, but that only makes it more rewarding to master! Our cello lessons teach students how to care for their cello, proper posture and bow technique, and how to make the most of the cello’s soloist opportunities.
Larger and lower-pitched than the violin, the viola is often overlooked by student musicians. That opens up a world of opportunities for students who pursue this crucial member of the harmony section. In our viola lessons, students can master the viola’s mellow tones and set themselves apart from other musicians.
The violin is easily the most popular bowed instrument. Small and portable, violins are easier to handle than other string instruments. Violinists also enjoy a wide range of opportunities, thanks to the violin’s versatility across styles and genres! Our one-on-one lessons give students the direct instruction they need to master this elegant instrument.
Build Skills in a Bach to Rock Band!
Learning to play an instrument requires more than solo practice. Whether you’re on the violin, the cello, or another part of the string section, you need the chance to practice and perform with other musicians!
While many of our students already belong to school bands, we encourage all students to perform with other Bach to Rock students. By joining a Bach to Rock band, students can have fun, build performance skills, and become more confident on stage!
