Bach to Rock Music School Announces 2022 Highlights and 2023 Outlook at Second National Franchisee Conference

Bach to Rock, America’s music school for students of all ages, presented a recap of 2022, strategic plans for 2023, and in-depth training sessions at its Second National Franchisee Conference, themed “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: Success through Togetherness,” held February 15-17, 2023 in Austin, Texas.  The conference was developed to give Bach to Rock music school directors and owners an opportunity to unite, to learn from each other by sharing best practices, and to participate in hands-on coaching and education sessions for school implementation.   

Brian Gross, President of Bach to Rock, in his opening remarks stated, “I am heartened by the incredible impact that each and every one of our franchisees, directors, and staff members has on the lives of young musicians and music lovers in our communities. Together, we are creating a new generation of music enthusiasts and performers, and I am honored to be a part of such a meaningful and impactful organization.”

Highlights from 2022 include:

  • Bach to Rock experienced steady growth in 2022 and closed the year with system-wide revenue totaling over $26 million. 
  • Over 30 schools generated revenues over $500,000, including eight locations which exceeded $750,000 and two schools which exceeded $1M, and the system expanded by five new locations.
  • Bach to Rock was recognized by Listen360 with its Loyalty Champion Award in their inaugural Customer Loyalty Awards program. Bach to Rock’s high score indicated that the majority of customers were highly satisfied and would recommend the company to others.
  • Bach to Rock’s Beat Refinery DJ school is now Serato certified, making it one of only a handful of schools in the United States and worldwide providing the elite training developed by Serato. Thirty locations offer Beat Refinery.
  • The Bach to Rock system-wide website was rebranded and relaunched in September 2022 with a modern look.

Conference education sessions focused on best practices in marketing, customer service, hiring and training, profitability, student retention, curriculum, and offered actionable steps to improve strategies in 2023.  Two keynote speakers were featured.  Rich Redmond, drummer for Jason Aldean and founder of the C.R.A.S.H. Course for Success presented five key concepts –– Commitment, Relationships, Attitude, Skill, and Hunger –– and delivered powerful stories, lessons, and wisdom earned from decades in the music industry on how to thrive in business and life.  The second keynote speaker, Jayson Pearl, President of Service Score, shared his insights, experience and recommendations on helping Bach to Rock schools drive profitability by converting leads into sales. He spent over 25 years at multiple brands as part of regional franchise groups, as well as a senior member of franchisor entities.

Strategic plans for 2023 were shared, which include developing the MyB2R app, opening 6 new schools, testing and developing a national call center, enhancing franchise development efforts and expanding the variety of music curriculum offerings for students.
