Student of the Month – Maya F

Our Student of the Month (April 2023) is Maya F., who takes Voice lessons at Bach to Rock East Marietta. Read the Q&As below to find out more about her!  

Q: What inspired you to play music? 

 A: I want to get bigger parts in plays at school  

Q: What is your favorite style of music?   

A: Pop   

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?   

A: Harry Styles because he sings Pop   

Q: What is your favorite song to play?   

A: I love to sing Part of Your World     

Q: What are you learning right now in your lessons?   

A: Reviewing level one stuff like names of notes  

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning/performing?   

A: Performing Part of Your World and holding a note longer than 8 seconds  

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock?   

A: Ms. Desirée and singing   

Q: What is your favorite thing about your teacher?   

A: She is kind, funny, and she helps me when I’m nervous  

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music?   

A: Acting, CrossFit, and journaling    

Ms. Desirée has been Maya’s Voice Teacher as of June 2022, and has shared her thoughts on teaching Maya: 

 “I chose Maya because of her courage, growth and consistency. She is an adaptive learner and great at listening and being attentive. She is also such a pleasant young lady to work with and receives corrections well. She has improved so much over the past 6 months!”
