Student of the Month – Faith A

Our Student of the Month (July 2023) is Faith A., who takes Piano lessons at Bach to Rock East Marietta. Read the Q&As below to find out more about her!

Q: What inspired you to play music?

A: I got a keyboard for Christmas when I was 5 and it inspired me to want to play.

Q: What is your favorite style of music?

A: Gothic rock

Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?

A: Robert Smith from the cure. He is a great singer.

Q: What is your favorite song to play?

A: Your affection from the game Persona 4

Q: What are you learning right now in your lessons?

A: Learning how to write music and learning chords.

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning/performing?

A:  Want to learn Mozart pieces

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Bach to Rock?

A: The teachers are nice and I learn a lot from them.

Q: What is your favorite thing about your teacher?

A: Very relaxed and easy to learn from. Very informative. I like that Ryan plays more than one instrument.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing music?

A: I like to play video games and hang out with friends.

Mr. Ryan has been Faith’s Piano Teacher as of March 2023, and has shared his thoughts on teaching Faith:

“It’s one thing for a student to want to learn a song. But it’s another thing for a student to want to learn about why songs sound the way they do; or why some notes work well together and some don’t. I chose Faith for student of the month because of the progress she has made and the musical curiosity she has.”
