Bach to Rock to Open in Port Washington NY Nov 1

Music School Will Host Open House with Band Performances, Free Music Lessons on Saturday, Nov. 17

Glenn Fleischman and Alan Goodstadt, Bach to Rock’s first franchisees, announced today that the latest Bach to Rock (B2R) school will open in Port Washington, N.Y., on Thursday, Nov. 1 with an open house for the community on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families, neighbors and residents are invited to tour the school, meet the teachers, get a free music lesson, hear bands, peruse the instrument petting zoo, check out the recording studio, attend free early childhood classes, win prizes, and more. The school is located at 1015 Port Washington Boulevard in Port Washington and is the seventh Bach to Rock location in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Begun in 2007 with one school in Bethesda, Md., B2R now has seven schools in the Mid-Atlantic region and a rapidly growing enrollment. Glenn and Alan, managing partners of Amplified Capital Partners, LLC, plan to open a chain of Bach to Rock schools in Nassau County, N.Y., Westchester County, N.Y. and Fairfield County, Conn.

“At B2R, music lessons are fun,” said Fleischman, franchisee and managing partner of Amplified Capital Partners, LLC. “The students are playing music they love with their friends. We’re excited to be in the Port Washington community and feel privileged to share our passion for music.”

“As musicians ourselves, we are thrilled to bring Bach to Rock’s unique teaching methods to more families in the New York area,” said Goodstadt, franchisee and managing partner of Amplified Capital Partners, LLC. “The greatest hurdle in the study of music is its solitary nature. It’s hard to expect active young people to devote a half hour or more each day to practice by themselves. At Bach to Rock, we transform music and music lessons into a social experience, adding a strong group incentive to playing, learning, and practicing. We have found that maximum progress is achieved through a blend of individual instruction and playing with one’s peers in bands.”

The B2R MethodB2R’s method is based on the knowledge that students learn best when they join together to play the music they like the most. The curriculum uses age-appropriate arrangement of both popular and traditional music, along with such innovations as special instrument tunings to accommodate small hands and the use of professional recording technology to provide students with instant feedback.

Unfortunately most people quit music lessons in less than two years because of the solitary nature of practicing and the lack of social peer reinforcement. But at B2R, students play music they know and like in small bands and ensembles (teams) as well as in private lessons. This transforms the drudgery of conventional music instruction into a dynamic social experience. Competitive public performances at prestigious venues foster teamwork and peer interaction, build self esteem, enhance interpersonal skills and motivate students to perfect their musicianship through independent practice.

Bands, Ensembles and ConcertsB2R combines individual lessons with band or ensemble instruction, stimulating social and musical interaction. Weekly “jam sessions” lead to Battles of the Bands and to recording sessions in B2R’s professional sound studios, while regularly scheduled concerts provide the thrill of an audience, build self-confidence and help students become seasoned performers.

B2R StudiosB2R features state-of-the-art recording studios at each of its schools. Here students experience the excitement of recording with certified engineers in a professional environment, producing digitally mastered CDs of their music. Instruction in recording and audio technology is another option in the B2R curriculum and the studios are also available to professional musicians for recording and audio services.

About Bach to RockBach to Rock is a music education school for students of all ages from early childhood through high school and beyond. The B2R method is based on the belief that learning music is fun and students learn best when they play music they enjoy. Weekly ensemble instruction and jam sessions lead to public concerts, Battle of the Bands and recording sessions in B2R’s professional recording studios. B2R builds technique, fosters teamwork and enhances self-esteem through private lessons, band instruction, and public performance. B2R schools are expanding nationwide via franchised locations and are currently located in Maryland, Virginia and New York. For more information, visit
