From kids learning to play an instrument for the first time to adults who want to learn a new instrument, our step-by-step approach can teach anyone to learn the ukulele. Starting with basic chords and moving up to techniques like slides and the shuffle strum, we make it easy to master this beginner-friendly instrument.

Best of all, students can choose the songs they learn and practice! And by joining a Bach to Rock band, ukulele players can showcase their talents as part of a larger ensemble.

Our Ukulele Lessons & Classes

Bach to Rock offers private and semi-private ukulele lessons for kids and adults, as well as beginner classes. All of our lessons are taught by experienced musicians, including touring musicians and studio players. We currently offer our lessons both in-person and online.

The ukulele’s small size makes it a perfect choice for younger musicians. It’s also a great choice for guitar and bass players who are already familiar with chords, fretwork, and strumming techniques.

Private Ukulele Lessons

In private lessons, students work one-on-one with a ukulele teacher. This way, students get the direct instruction, attention, and encouragement they need to build skills and gain confidence as they learn to play.

Semi-Private Ukulele Lessons

Learning to play the ukulele is even more fun when you’re learning with a friend! Our semi-private lessons group 2 to 3 students with an instructor to learn the ukulele together.

Beginner Ukulele Classes

We offer beginner ukulele classes through our Ukulele 101 program. This 10-week, beginner-friendly class gives students a fun and easy environment to build new skills, giving them a head start when they enroll in lessons.

Adult Ukulele Lessons

Want to learn the ukulele as an adult or brush up on your skills? Bach to Rock welcomes ukulele players of all ages, including adults!

Toddler, Preschool & Kids Classes

At Bach to Rock, we know how important early music education is for kids. Our early childhood programs include Rock n Roll (ages 1-3) and Rock City® (ages 3-5) for toddlers and preschoolers. We also offer Fun with Music (ages 5-7), which allows kids to explore instruments like the ukulele and start building basic skills.

Play with Peers in a Bach to Rock Band!

All of our ukulele students are encouraged to bring their talents to a Bach to Rock band.

By practicing and performing with peers, ukulele students can apply what they’ve learned in one-on-one lessons. Band sessions are also a great way to have fun, build teamwork skills, and learn how the ukulele can interact with other instruments!

Bach to Rock offers a wide range of music programs, including lessons for all ages and skill levels!

Our private lessons include programs for piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and voice, as well as brass, string, and woodwind instruments.

We also offer group classes — including beginner classes like Piano 101, Guitar 101, and Voice 101 — plus ensemble programs like Band and Glee Club.

Pricing for Bach to Rock music lessons depends on the type and duration of lesson. You can find up-to-date pricing and schedules for all of our programs through our online sign up system. Pricing may vary by location.

All Bach to Rock students must have access to their own instruments for at-home practice.

Bach to Rock is more than happy to advise parents and students on instrument purchases. We can recommend local stores that sell high-quality instruments for a reasonable price.

We also have wholesale contracts with instrument manufacturers and suppliers. This allows us to provide instruments at a discount to parents and students who purchase them from us.

A list of recommended instruments and accessories is available for all parents and students.

While students must have their own instruments for at-home practice, Bach to Rock will generally provide students with instruments for in-school lessons.

Drums, guitars, keyboards, and support equipment (such as amplifiers) will always be supplied by the school. This way, students don’t have to transport bulky equipment to and from lessons.

As students advance, they may feel more comfortable using their own instruments for lessons at Bach to Rock. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments to school for lessons when possible.

Note that we do not provide wind or orchestral instruments such as clarinets, flutes, saxophones, or violins.

It's never too early to get kids started with music! At Bach to Rock, we encourage parents to start music classes early in childhood, so that kids can enjoy the developmental benefits of music education.

Our programs include Rock n Roll (ages 1-3), Rock City® (ages 3-5), Kids n Keys (ages 5-7), and Fun with Music (ages 6-7). Our early childhood classes help prepare students for private music lessons as they grow older.

We recommend starting private lessons at age 7. This is the age when most students are able to read sheet music — an important skill for private lessons.
